thanks to a friend, now I can group in HA with some players. Also, I am starting to be known in HA. Thx Sama.
About me: Since I gave up PvE, now I give money and ectos. Zaishen Keys are a nice source of money, you know.

LOL I think that was me, I was going to charge but I realised "eh, screw it, I'd get better cash from dungeons. Might as well do something to nullify my boredom."

Early in my GW days I had a friend who helped to gear up my ranger, put her in max Droks armor and I've had others give free runs. Typically I'm the one doing the nicer things by doling out extra weapons I might not need. I had one member in my guild that for 3 days i placed as Guild Leader and upon giving it back, I gave him 10 ecto (they were 10k each at the time). Others i've completely geared up from armor to weapons and runes. In all I've doled out a few hundred k to players and will still continue to do it today. Sometimes after a long day in life or just a difficult time on GW, a player every now and then can use a hand or a little something to keep the faith alive in the game to help them along further. I've made many a friends this way and have actually had people in the past join my guild because of that generosity (not that they were expecting more, but because I performed the gesture).

When i first started playing back in may '05 i met a level 16 ranger in pre and he gave me the full tour. And he told me which keys did what. Gave me some good stuff as well to get started.
This was the main reason i used to give free stuff and free runs to newbies.
Until it backfired and some guy kept whispering me begging for things after i gave him some mats. He then got other people to message me as well. I kinda stopped helping people after that.
I gave some low level warrior some steel ingots once and then asked if they wanted to join my guild. He's still there 3 years later.
Still a noob as well.

Awwww that's so nice! I hope that bow will keep being handed to new-newbies and passing on the tradition of amiability on GW!!!
Nicest thing for me was when I just blew all my money on Primeval Dervish armor I was spamming chat for 1 black dye(only had 7k left) and a guy took the gold but gave me 4 more so I can dye black

i always try to help out people by giving away golds, inscriptions, and stuff like that in ascalon d1.. haha sadly not many people take free stuff any more. dunno why.

I don't really play much nowadays, but a while ago I usually run CoF for free twice per day, with the rest being for tips only.

Back when I started Phrophecies, I'd gotten myself to Yaks Bend. There I met a player who mentioned about getting a Droks run. After getting to Beacons and getting a run to Droks, the player gave me 12k to get Droks armour for my toon.

I remember I made a ranger a while back for Nightfall. I was hanging around the area before that starter mission when a warrior whispers to me that he has a bow he'd like to give me. It was a low-level bow, but my ranger was level 2 so it worked fine for me. I thanked him for it. Next thing I know he's giving me 1k because I thanked him.

It's funny you say that. I am always jumping over to Ascalon to open random trade windows with seemingly poor players to give them an elemental sword. Most people either don't want it or they take it and immediately log off thinking I accidentally hit accept to their zero offer and that they scammed me...

when i first started playing and got my first character to post searing ascalon i was just sitting around looking for anything free. this guy then gives me 20k. 20k back in the day was a hell of a lot. if i was smart i wouldve gotten myself run to droks and got armor but i wasted it on ascalon armor dyed red with all runes etc. wasted almost all of it on noob armor..

When I was new, and in my old guild, some guy was giving out ToPK greens for free in the Guild Hall.. This was at like 1am in the morning, lol. A bunch of people in the guild just kinda hang around, and for some reason we just chat and mess around - For some reason someone brings up the topic of how much money everyone has, and some guy is like "Eh, only 25k right now, i'm poor atm." and im like "lol, ive never had 25k." So teh guy who was giving out ToPK greens gave me 25k. Lol. I got a Kole's Gauntlet and 25k. Then I went to sleep. Was a pretty good day for me.

A very good friend of mine who will remain anonymous constantly loads everything he doesnt need onto me that he gets from farming. I mean consistent loads of unids, lockpicks, runes, weapons, materials, etc...
To put it in perspective this is what he did at random one day:
Wwe were farming in cof as 600/smite, and he asked me why I wasn't opening any chests and I said I couldn't afford lockpicks. So the first thing he does is drop 50 lockpicks on the ground and tells me to pick them up.
Real sweet.

Although what this person gave me is grand in terms of money/value, they had a lot more to give than just that. He's a person that is respected by everyone - he's helpful, kind, funny, drunk (yay heineken, haha!), courteous, and an amazing leader. So thank you for that - thanks for being the person who got me into enjoying the guild, and gave me 2 years of wonderful memories!
And thanks for the unded mini ghostly, too .
We all miss you!

That would be what all my ingame friends have given me over the years:
friendship, fun and help when I asked. With no one keeping a tally of who did what for whom.
That, to me, is worth much more than all the gold in GW put together. Without this, I would have stopped playing ages ago.
You know who you are!
